Field Service Technician - SATELLITE/VSAT /Cisco
Field Service Technician Job: SATELLITE FIELD TECHNICIAN needed in AFGHANISTAN and IRAQ! ACTIVE Secret Clearance required.
Minimum 1 year commitment to with long-term opportunities if interested. Salary is $132K per year plus excellent R&R package. For every 90 days in country, will have 14 days off with travel paid to home of record (paid base rate while on R&R). All room and board and security is provided. Candidates need to be US citizens, previous military, and have had hostile environment deployment experience .
Duties: Install, reconfigure, maintain and support secure and non secure communications for the U.S. government, military agencies and civilian organizations. Install, maintain, and monitor VSAT systems and affiliated networks in various regions. Train client personnel on VSAT terminal use. Candidates need to have familiarity with some of the following equipment: Cisco Switches, Cisco Firewalls, Cisco IP Phones, UPS surge protection systems, iDirect satellite modems, KG-175 encryption devices, fixed and deployable Satellite Antennas, Block Up Converter (BUC), Low Noise Block (LNB) devices, cross pole feed, Satellite TV decoders, bandwidth sharing, TDMA and SCPC, Tranzeo 2.4 & 5.8 Wireless Bridges. Proficient in Coax and Cat5 cabling.
Need experience installing, reconfiguring, operating and maintaining deployable satellite systems (will be working primarily with small fly away terminals). Must be able to read and comprehend design and installation documents associated with the implementation of VSAT networks.
Questions you will be asked -> ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE is a MUST !!! - Do you have an active security clearance? What level and when was it last used? How many satellite communications systems have you installed? Have you ever installed or managed a local area network? If so, describe the network protocol and the size of the network. What is your experience installing and troubleshooting either iDirect or ViaSat Linkway modems? Are you previous military? If so, when and what branches and what was your MOS? For each overseas country that you worked in, please provide the dates of service and the type of work that was performed
